Frivol Press exists to make fun of life — occasionally taking a subject far too seriously in the name of getting it precisely right, and never taking itself seriously at all. Our first title, Rigged Dice: A Backgammon Adventure, turns years of tournament experience and computer analysis into something meant to be played, not just read. More titles are on the board.
Rigged Dice: A Backgammon Adventure by Mark Danburg-Wyld is a backgammon instruction book built as a single, continuous game. Its 500 interconnected positions branch choose-your-own-adventure style: readers make the actual decision at each roll, follow their choice to its consequence, and can rewind to explore what a different move would have cost or won. Every position includes XG computer analysis with equity differentials. A companion Solution Manual offers deeper write-ups for readers who want to study the underlying decisions further. Danburg-Wyld has directed the Portland Metro Backgammon Club since 2016.
